Seeing his father flying in his 'Ferret' class reconaissance vessel made him addicted to spacecraft and machinery. He would always found a way to watch incoming or leaving pilots. He even skipped classes to hang out at the landingdocks. He later would own his own spacecraft: a YT-1300 light freighter called the 'Tag Nadar'. After the death of his father during a mission, Bengala sold the 'Ferret' class vessel. He vowed revenge and joined The Bothan Martial Academy.Time in Martial Academy
When reaching the proper age he went to Bothan Martial Academy to learn how to fly fighters and transports. He also learned to shoot DL-44 blasters and the A280 blaster rifle and many forms of close combat. He attended two years on the Academy which he left because the Empire occupied Bothawui.Working the trade
For some years he had worked for a trading company to transport materials to the many colony planets in the Mid Rim. But that wasn't really something he wanted to do the rest of his life. When he met a fellow Bothan who had been on Telos IV to join the Republic Intelligence, he decided it was time for a change. So he made his way to Telos. He entered the recruitment office, no not as agent for Intel. He wanted something to help him get his revenge and still having the chance to follow his dream. He joined the Navy as a pilot.Family
His father , Mensala Naz'ilya, worked for the Bothan Spy Network but was killed by Imperial troops from the ISB. His mission was to learn more about the troop movements, especially 'Vaders Fist' and fleet coordinates. The body was never recovered. His mother, Biree Ak'ilya, Who is still alive, teaches fighting with blades to unmarried female Bothans for this was learned to them to protect their honor, the honor of their mate and the lives of her whelps. They were expected to always wear two blades with them. So they became Blade Carriers. When a male and female wished to be mated, they'd do the Blade Dance. Blade to blade until they reach a stalemate. After they're mated, the female gives her mate one of her daggers, to show the trust she has in him. He becomes her protector.
