The 2016 Salt Lake City tornado was the city's most intense tornado. The last time a tornado had hit the city was in 1999, which was later rated as an F2. This tornado was on the ground for 22 minutes before it lifted, in which time it had caused $910 million in damages. The tornado also led to 12 deaths, and 91 injuries, making it one of Utah's worst ever recorded tornadoes.
