Robert Stephens Cufflin (1814-5 October 1875) was a jeweller and local politician in the Islington area. Born in London, he was the son of Thomas Cufflin, a shoemaker from Leicester and his wife Margaret Stephens from Herefordshire. He established a jewellery business at 58 Upper Street, Islington. He married Naomi Lamont and they had 5 children: two of his sons continued and expanded the jewellery business. He was a member of the Islington Vestry, and from 1875 until his death represented the parish on the Metropolitan Board of Works.
