abstract	The Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester (MOSI), located in Manchester, England, is a large museum devoted to the development of science, technology, and industry and particularly the city's considerable contributions to these. It is an Anchor Point of ERIH - The European Route of Industrial Heritage. The museum is a non-departmental public body. There are extensive displays on the theme of transport (railway locomotives and rolling stock, aircraft, and space vehicles), power (water, electricity, steam and gas engines), Manchester's sewerage and sanitation, textiles, communications and computing. They also have steam train rides at the museum hauled by a replica of a Planet class Steam locomotive "Planet" built by Robert Stephenson. The railway brings the museum to life and is one of the major attractions to visitors. The railway is mainly run by volunteers.
