Barbra (Judith O'Dea), is a fictional character from the first of George A. Romero's living dead films, Night of the Living Dead. She is Johnny's sister and is rather dependent. While Barbra and her brother Johnny (Russell Streiner) drive to a Pennsylvania cemetery to place a wreath on their father's grave, Johnny teases her because she is afraid of cemeteries, taunting, "They're coming to get you, Barbra!" As Johnny jeers at Barbra, a pale-faced man lumbers toward the pair. The man suddenly grabs Barbra and Johnny rushes to save her. While fighting with the man, Johnny falls and smashes his head on a gravestone. Barbra flees in Johnny's car, driving it into a tree. She abandons the car and runs into a nearby farmhouse to hide. She soon discovers that others like the man are outside.

Ben boards up the doors and windows from the inside with dismantled furniture and scraps of wood as Barbra becomes hysterical. Ben finds a rifle and a radio as Barbra lies incapacitated on a couch in the living room. The two are unaware that Harry and Helen Cooper, their daughter Karen, and teenage couple Tom and Judy have been hiding in the cellar. Harry wants the group to barricade themselves in the cellar, but Ben argues that they would, effectively, be trapping themselves down there. Later, when the undead are breaking into the house, Barbra rouses to assist Ben in trying to keep them out. She sees her brother Johnny among them. She hesitates and Johnny pulls her out of the house and into the zombie horde. * In the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead, Barbra's (renamed Barbara) fate is altered, as well as her demeanor; depicted as more independent in the remake, Barbara survives the events of the film.
