| - The game starts out with Jonathan taking a walk through Ghenhmar City, his hometown. However, he is soon attacked by a group of four Pokémon- Bunseed, Bunchar, Bunchar, and Bunzap. Olivia soon appears with two Pokéballs, teaching Jonathan to catch whichever Pokémon he chooses. She then catches the Pokémon that is weak to his. While Jonathan and Olivia compare their Pokémon, Parker appears catches the Pokémon that is strong against Jonathan's, followed by Katie appearing and catching Bunzap. Parker and Katie insist on a tag-battle between the four with the four Pokémon. No matter which team wins, Professor Maple appears and congratulates the victors. After seeing the Pokémon they caught, she asks the four to come back to her lab so she can take a good look at them. Parker is unsure, but agrees after Jonathan, Olivia, and Katie insist. After studying the four rabbit Pokémon for a couple seconds, Maple explains to the kids that these Pokémon are very rare, and are rumored to have been the servants of the legendary Pokémon Dimp and Dark Dimp before the two legendary Pokémon got into a fight, blocking off the portal to their secret dimension and trapping their servants outside. Amazed, Parker wonders if the four Pokémon could lead them to Dimp and Dark Dimp, but Maple informs him that they must first befriend the Pokémon. She suggests that they try to beat each of the gyms in the area first, and the four agree. After leaving Maple's lab, Parker suggests that they all try to race to find Dimp and Dark Dimp first. Jonathan and Olivia are unsure, but Katie agrees, and they all decide to split up and find some more wild Pokémon and then meet up outside the Haly City Gym. Arriving in the first town, Jonathan meets Katie and Olivia, but all three are unsure of where Parker is. At that moment, Parker emerges from the gym with the first badge. Olivia is annoyed and yells at Parker that they were all supposed to wait for each other, and Parker points out that they were gonna meet outside- which they did. He then leaves, annoying Katie and Olivia. They decide to head over to the PokeCenter, where they stay until Jonathan beats the gym. After beating the second gym in the game, Jonathan and Olivia meet up and decide to visit the home of Professor Maple's dad, Robert Maple. Despite obviously being busy, he allows them to do a tag battle with him and his assistant. After being defeated, he gives them both a free Eevee, but tells them that he really must be getting back to work, so the two leave. After beating the fourth gym in the game, Jonathan meets up with Katie, Olivia, and Parker once again. The four then witness a group of Bunseed, Bunsplash, Bunchar, and Bunzap being captured by Team Magic. Katie and Olivia run after them, but end up captured as well, so Jonathan and Parker chase after them. Arriving in Team Magic's hideout, Parker runs ahead, leaving Jonathan behind. Jonathan rescues Olivia, who states that she didn't see where Katie was put or where Parker ran off to. A couple of Magic executives then appear, and Jonathan and Olivia do a tag battle with them and win. With them defeated, Jonathan and Olivia get access to the room where Team Magic's leader is, and find none other than Robert Maple, who has captured Parker and Katie. While Olivia goes to help Parker and Katie, Jonathan battles with Robert once again, and succeeds in defeating him. However, he reveals that it was just a time-passer, and a portal opens up to Dimp and Dark Dimp's dimension. Robert and the Team Magic members capture Dimp and Dark Dimp, but depending on which game, Jonathan manages to rescue one of them. He doesn't yet see Jonathan worthy, saying that if he becomes the Pokémon Champion, they can team up. With Team Magic, Dimp, and Dark Dimp gone, Jonathan, Olivia, Katie, and Parker go on their seperate ways again. After beating the final gym, Jonathan hears about the World Tournament, and decides to enter, remembering what Dimp/Dark Dimp said to him. After traveling to Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos, and beating all eight of their gyms, Jonathan heads back to Dyline to beat the champions of each region. After beating Calem, Nate, Dawn, May, and Ethan (the champions of each region, other than Kanto), Jonathan discovers that Red, the Kanto champion, is missing. Robert and some more Magic Executives appear in a hovercraft and announce that they kidnapped Red and his Pokémon, so Jonathan chases after them. Almost to the new Team Magic hideout, Jonathan is stopped by Parker and Katie. Parker, who only barely lost to enter in the World Tournament, but was beaten out by Jonathan, demands that they battle so that he can prove that he is better. Jonathan is unsure, but is convinced by Katie. After defeating Parker, Jonathan continues to the new Team Magic hideout, with Olivia, Katie, and Parker in close pursuit. He manages to sneak through the hideout and finds Red's cell, but before he can free Red, he is challenged by Robert, who has mind-controlled the Legendary Pokémon not rescued to be his, alongside the three Magic Executives. Olivia, Katie, and Parker take care of the executives, while Jonathan battles Robert. Now respecting him, the Pokémon who was rescued joins Jonathan in the battle. Upon defeating Robert, he and the rest of Team Magic flee, claiming that they will now disband, and Jonathan, Olivia, Katie, and Parker release Red and his Pokémon. Red thanks them and they return to the World Tournament battlefield, so that Jonathan can have his final battle. After defeating Red, Jonathan is given the title of overall Pokémon champion. Parker moves in to the abandoned Team Magic hideout, where he can be challenged at any time; Katie moves in to the original Team Magic hideout, where she can be challenged at any time; Olivia goes back to her house, where she can be challenged at any time; Robert moves in with Professor Maple, where he can be challenged at any time; and the champions remain at the battlefield, where they can be challenged at any time.
