Turpentine Dragons were released on April 25, 2012, as part of "The Turpentines" release. Originally, the eggs of this dragon dropped in the biome but this was later changed to the biome. The reason behind this was explained by the spriter, , who divulged that this dragon was created and taken off the forum's Completed List long before the existence of biomes, resulting in the spriter never officially choosing a biome for this breed. They did post in the release thread however, that they were surprised to see it released in the alpine biome and thought the desert was more fitting. It is speculated that saw the spriter's biome preference, and changed it as a result, but the spriter cannot be sure as they were too shy to contact TJ09 about the change.

When bred to Lumina Dragons, the Turpentine's oily coating causes Luminas to shed their scales and temporarily change their sprites.
