Lan questions Rand on why he hasn't left Fal Dara when he had said he was going to leave a month ago. Rand isn't really sure, but he wants to be near his friends Mat Cauthon and Perrin Aybara as well as Egwene al'Vere which has made him put off leaving. With trumpets blaring, drums beating and banners waving, a large group approaches Fal Dara. Lan says it is the Amyrlin Seat and that Rand should have been gone a week already.
