Lansaw's debut came in 1955, when he competed at Las Vegas. Starting 17th in the field of twenty-seven, Lansaw crashed out of the event late but still managed a career-best 14th place outing. Lansaw's other two races came during the 1956 season, when he started the year off at Phoenix. Starting 29th in the field of thirty, Lansaw again fell out of the event late and finished 22nd. He fared no better at Merced, finishing 26th after early radiator issues.
