From Treasure Hunter they could be obtained in batches of 800, 1600, or 3200 as a fairly common, uncommon, or rare prize, respectively. Daily challenges gave 150 spheres when handed in. From runecrafting 40 could be obtained every 5 minutes, similar to rune ethereal fragments. Finding X lunar spheres with space in inventory and with none in the currency pouch prompted the following message: * You find X Lunar Spheres. If one had a full inventory and no spheres in inventory, the following was seen: * You find X Lunar Spheres. They are added to your bank.

abstract
  • From Treasure Hunter they could be obtained in batches of 800, 1600, or 3200 as a fairly common, uncommon, or rare prize, respectively. After adding them to the currency pouch, the message was: * You find X Lunar Spheres. They are added to your currency pouch. Furthermore, turning in a daily challenge prompted: * Congratulations! You've earned 150 Lunar Spheres! Combining the spheres would open a shop interface, allowing the player to create any pieces of the lunarfury equipment or the lunar shards. Once all equipment pieces had been created, further spheres could be converted for experience in either Runecrafting or Mining at a rate of 10 experience per sphere. 5,000 spheres could be converted into experience in each of these skills daily. When purchasing the lunarfury outfit, the player was awarded Runecrafting experience per override. The experience awarded was 20,000 for the helmet, chest, legs and weapons; 10,000 for the gloves and boots; and 25,000 for the cape. Starting on 11 April 2017 players with lunar spheres in currency pouch, or with no lunar spheres at all, received a message on login: Lunar Spheres will become untradeable on the 24th April and cleaned up on the 8th May. On 12 April this message was changed to only appear after having been logged out for more than five minutes.
