His father sent him to his uncle where he could get an education and be sent to school. He was enrolled in Shiekh Boarding school later studied in Lafoole University in Mogadishu where he studied Marine Biology later received a scholarship to Oregon State University where he received a Master's degree. Mohamed is a citizen of Djibouti and has 4 children.
