The First Customer purchased an ice cream and a beer from Eddie Yeats when he set up a sideline from his ice cream vans on Sundays. Eddie told a Boy who purchased an ice cream to fetch his dad. Both the boy and his dad thought that the youngster had done something wrong but Eddie soon put the man right and sold him both items for 35p. The man just wanted the ale but Eddie told him he had to have both so as not to break the law and asked him to pass the word round among his friends.
