Nahshon was the son of Amminadab, the father of Salmon and an ancestor of King David. Nahshon became Aaron's brother-in-law when Aaron married his sister Elisheba. Nahshon was thus the uncle of Aaron's children Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. Nahshon was also the leader of the Tribe of Judah during the Exodus. Nahshon was the first to bring his offering at the dedication of the Tabernacle. Nahson's offering included:
