As a friendly target, it triggers the "Ally:" Gambits and cannot be targeted by enemy-only Technicks. It lacks a Bestiary entry, nor does it provide LP if killed (it does provide EXP). The watch kill enemies, and if the player party is low on health, they will throw a potion or two. Early in the game they make traveling the different parts of the desert easier for a weak party by clearing the path, though later they are more annoyances by eliminating the enemies needed for a chain.
