The Goblin Market is a magical marketplace in New Amsterdam, rather like Diagon Alley in London. It is one of several Goblin Markets in wizarding America, along with Markets in Chicago and Atlanta. In the Spring of 2010, an underground attack was launched against the Gringotts branch in the Market by members of the Thorn Circle. The Bank's "vaults had been emptied, and the buildings' foundations had been assaulted with magic powerful enough to cause the stone edifices to collapse. Many goblins had been killed, along with a few wizards."
