Rat Bratt is a minor character who appeared in Issue 140's complete story, Rat Race. In it, Bratt is unimpressed by Tails and his method of catching criminals, so challenges him to a race. If Tails loses, he is not allowed to patrol in the Zone again. Tails hastily accepts, but during the race, Bratt appears to reach each checkpoint before Tails. As the rat wins the race, Tails guesses what happened and it is revealed that Bratt had a twin brother help him during the race, flying to the next checkpoint in a helicopter. With the pair labelled as cheats, it is assumed they were chased out of the unnamed Zone by its citizens.
