The Premium series is a line of electric guitars produced by Hoshino Gakki and sold under the Ibanez brand. The line was introduced in 2011. It is a quality label Ibanez uses for Indonesian-made instruments that are made with more attention to detail than the standard models. The initial Premium models introduced in 2011 were all part of the RG series. These included the RG870Z, RG870QMZ and RG920QMZ. The RG870QMZ and RG920QMZ featured decorative quilted maple veneer tops.

The Premium Series consisted entirely of redecos of existing toys from the movie line, each sporting an improved (oftentimes metallic) and more movie-accurate finish and paint applications, plus movie-accurate or movie-inspired retools and new accessories in two cases. Four of the toys were released as store exclusives, whereas the rest was available as part of the mass retail assortments. When the Premium Series was officially announced by Hasbro in October of 2007, it was confirmed to include a few redecos that had already been released by that point (and therefore didn't sport any indication that they were supposed to be part of a "Premium Series" on the packaging), as well as various other toys that wouldn't be revealed until later.

Like the Prestige series models, Premium models include deluxe features such as five-piece laminated necks. They also feature additional attention to detail in the manufacturing process as exemplified by the "Premium fret edge treatment" which produces semi-hemispherical fret ends to eliminate sharp frets. Another common feature of the Premium line is the use of the Edge Zero II tremolo with a zero-point system to help ensure tuning stability. The initial Premium models introduced in 2011 were all part of the RG series. These included the RG870Z, RG870QMZ and RG920QMZ. The RG870QMZ and RG920QMZ featured decorative quilted maple veneer tops. Since 2011 Premium models have been added to the S, SA and Roadcore series as well as to several artist signature lines, such as the JEM77P, the JS24P and the AT10P.
