This facility, located in Houston, Texas, was responsible for crew safety and mission success for early manned space programs, including Apollo 11 and Ares IV. In 2143, there were three assignment patches for this facility displayed in the 602 Club. (ENT: "First Flight") The first MCC patch was designed by Robert McCall, who, as well, was responsible for the Apollo 17 patch. This patch honored the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs with their symbols. [1] There were two of these patches on display in the club.
