Sometime around the 18th century, Wolfram & Hart decided to establish a new branch in Los Angeles. Their seers recommended a location that was already being used by the Spanish as a missionary site. To push through with their plans, the law firm decided to deconsecrate the grounds by sacrificing Matthias Pavayne's blood. The ritual proved to be effective, as the branch was successfully established, and Matthias' ghost continued to haunt the office for years to come.
