At its most basic, the task of the Liaison Service of the International is to ensure that the International does not get attacked by other alliances. Alliances wishing to get to know the International are encouraged to visit the IRC channel, #the_international on Coldfront, or to open an embassy. The Liaison Service is organized on the following basis: the Liaison Commissar, who sets the agenda for the whole Service, is elected by the Congress of the International every two months. The Commissar appoints all the other positions in the Service, including the Liaison Secretary, the Alliance Ambassadors, and the various representatives to multilateral blocs.
