Allura's magic orb is an object given to Poet Smurf by the evil witch Allura in the cartoon show episode "The Lure Of The Orb". The orb was supposed to give heightened inspiration to whoever touched the orb, but in reality it gave its users a temporary boost in energy similar to the effect of amphetamines and a feeling of euphoria, after which it passes, leaving the user physically drained and addicted to its power. With increased use of the orb, its effects last for shorter periods of time until it requires constant touching of the orb to maintain any sense of stability.

The orb was supposed to give heightened inspiration to whoever touched the orb, but in reality it gave its users a temporary boost in energy similar to the effect of amphetamines and a feeling of euphoria, after which it passes, leaving the user physically drained and addicted to its power. With increased use of the orb, its effects last for shorter periods of time until it requires constant touching of the orb to maintain any sense of stability. Poet, Handy, Harmony, Painter, and Farmer were the primary users of the orb, but when other Smurfs such as Papa Smurf and Hefty saw what the orb was doing to them, they went as far as to breaking the orb in the hope that it would also break its hold on the addicted Smurfs. Instead, they sought out Allura who allowed them to touch her orb in her residence whenever they wanted, but as the power they possessed from the orb waned increasingly with each touch, the addicted Smurfs ended up becoming her slaves and would have remained that way had Hefty not attempted to come to their rescue. Poet garnered the willpower to dislodge the main orb from its stand and break it, also shattering the witch's control over the addicted Smurfs. Later on, as Poet managed to complete writing his poem without any further outside help, Allura appeared unto him again to offer a new orb, but Poet resisted the urge and turned her down.
