The Wolf is an enemy from the original Final Fantasy. They attack in large groups, sometimes fighting with Warg Wolves and can easily defeat a party that has just begun, but leveling up two or three levels should help the party overcome them easily. They can be found around Cornelia and in grassy areas near the beginning of the game. Though not very dangerous, they tend to appear in sizable packs, which, since they are encountered before multi-targeting magic tends to be available, can be somewhat painful. The Black Magic spell Sleep can make early fights with them easier, effectively reducing their numbers and allowing the party to deal with them in a more controlled fashion.
