  • The 1982 LFA Supercup was a major Lovian sporting event. This season is held by many as the best footballing season in Lovian history, due to many unexpected surprises and the beginning of a rivalry between James Masters and Petr Gambrin, two footballing greats. The season started off with Sheckin Lads winning; in its first two games they took all six points and top striker Dieter Most was a serious conteneder for the newly created Masters Cup with 3 goals. Soon they came off to a stumbling start, with a 2-2 tie with the Newhaven Rockets in the first leg and a 1-1 tie in the second. Soon they were overtaken by FK Galactic Hurbanova and AC Noble City, who would battle it our with their goalscorers Gambrin and Masters. The final group stage games were the ones between Noble City and Hurbanova. At Home in Noble city, Masters scored three goals to defeat Galactic 3-0. In the return leg, Gambrin was equally impressive, scoring two goals and assisting once. At half time the score was 3-1 and Galactic was losing on goal difference. Noble City's defense made the mistake of tripping Gambrin in the box and conceded a penalty. In the final minutes, Gambrin shot a rocketed from six feet away to enter the net and secure the victory. This set of games were considered by most to be better than the final, which was played in Newhaven. There an unbeaten Sheckin Lads team met a confident Galactic. Here midfielder Bernard Boscher socred at the 81st minute to give Galactic the win. Even though Gambrin scored 9 goals in all his matches it fell behind Masters' 10 goals, scored in only 15.
