Federal Triangle is a Washington Metro station in Washington, DC on the Blue and Orange Lines. It is also scheduled to be on the Silver Line route, which is scheduled to start operations in 2011. The station serves an area of Washington crowded with federal buildings, on 12th Street between Pennsylvania and Constitution Avenues, Northwest. The station's entrance is beneath the Ariel Rios Building. The station gets its name from the triangle formed by 15th Street, Constitution Avenue, and Pennsylvania Avenue, which includes such federal agencies as the Justice Department, Department of Commerce, the IRS and the EPA. This area is known as the Federal Triangle. Service began on July 1, 1977.
