| - OtherSpace is an online text-based roleplaying game in which you take on the role of a central character in an evolving space opera saga. The experience is designed to turn players into a combination of improvisational actor and online storyteller: You're given certain parameters to work with and, in real-time, interact with other participants to shape the story as it goes. Interactive scenes can take hours to resolve. Combat is refereed tabletop RPG-style, using coded dice that follow FUDGE-based rules. A successful OtherSpace experience relies on player initiative, imagination, patience, and good sportsmanship. We don't have a minimum age requirement, but we do expect our participants to demonstrate maturity, regardless of age. If this seems like too much effort, then OtherSpace probably isn't for you. If it sounds like something that's right up your alley, then join OtherSpace today! Here's a good summary of what we're all about, as explained by Thayndor - This is an RP-enforced space opera that has been around since 1998. In its last iteration, we featured nearly a dozen worlds and slightly fewer playable races, fully-developed space and skills systems, regular admin-run sweeping story arcs and countless smaller admin- and player-run plots. Currently, we feature two playable locations with a third coming online soon (and many more to follow), our space and skills systems, a crafting system, several active player-run organizations including a player-run space station, about a half-dozen playable races, and a player base full of newbie-friendly veteran RPers.
