Lum's Stormtroopers or Lum's Guards are four schoolboys from the same class as Ataru who are in love with Lum and have sworn to protect her from Ataru. They are best friends but often end up fighting amongst themselves when the situation involves Lum. These characters do exist in the manga; however, they are unnamed and appear until the first appearance of Mendou. Along with every major character in the series and some of the more memorable one-shot characters, they were included in the cover art for the final chapter of the manga. They appear more in the anime in the manga, but they replace Ataru's bestfriend and Megane takes most of his lines. They also appear in the 2010 OVA but separately.
