Jeff was originally a classical cellist, pianist and composition major - studying music at Boston University and SUNY, Stony Brook. After graduation - he performed all over the world, accompanying artists including: Burt Bacharach, Diana Ross, Glady Knight, Sammy Davis Jr., Barry Manilow, Don Rickles, Bob Hope, Dionne Warwick, Barbra Streisand, etc. Jeff wrote his first TV song for Ray Charles for the ABC sitcom "Who's the Boss". The song "Always a Friend" went on to win numerous awards and become a standard in wedding songbooks.

The song "Always a Friend" went on to win numerous awards and become a standard in wedding songbooks. In the 1983, Jeff met legendary kid's composer Joe Raposo (Sesame St). They became friends and Jeff soon joined Joe's publishing/production company MPI as a staff writer. After Joe's untimely death, Jeff took over writing for the TV series "Madeline" and thus began his kid's music career. He was hired by Cinar Films in Montreal, where Jeff became their music director. Jeff supervised the music for over 50 series including: "Arthur, Caillou, Barney & Friends, RIchard Scarry, Paddington Bear, Lassie, Are you Afraid of the Dark, Wimzie's House, Mumble Bumble, City Mouse, Country Mouse" and many other kids' classics.
