Allan was born in London to half Irish parents and raised in Battersea and Wandsworth. Allan first found his love for music from both of his parents. His father would listen to older reggae and rock and roll, while his mother listened to what was then more current music such as Alanis Morrisette and Oasis. He began to sing at the age of 8 in his school choir where he regularly sang the lead roles in school performances. During his time at primary school Allan learnt to play the drums and the steel pans. He then attended Ernest Bevin for boys in Tooting until he was 14. It was here that Allan discovered a natural talent music as he learnt to play the violin here and passed grades 1-6 in the space of two years.
