- The Butterfly Knife is a melee weapon in Saints Row 2.
- The Butterfly Knife is the main and only melee weapon that was introduced in Far Cry Instincts, and is used in the Instincts canon of Far Cry games.
- The Butterfly Knife is a small blade weapon with a pair of handles and two blades together. It is available in a light grey color. On the radio station V-Rock, Cousin Ed claims that the Butterfly Knife is "the pinnacle of reckless living".
- The Butterfly Knife is an equippable melee weapon used in The Factor which replaces the default knife. The knife can be found in Segment 4:The Riot onwards as a rare dropped item from enemies and is Nagotchi Hikuromu's signature weapon. The Butterfly Knife's cooldown rate (1.25 Seconds) between hits is lower than a default knife's 2 Second cooldown. The Butterfly Knife also yeilds a 10% higher damage stat than the regular knife. However, the Butterfly Knife is hindered by the longer time it takes to be equipped/switched, being half a second longer than the regular knife.
- The Butterfly Knife, or the Balisong is the secondary weapon of the Infiltrator. The Knife can only be used when an Infiltrator is using active invisibility (left click while cloaked). The stabbing animation takes about 2 seconds to complete(the stab happens at about 1 second and you can move again at about 2 seconds), although it may seem this may be enough time for an enemy to get away; its hitbox is quite large. As shown in the image the hitbox is exactly 35 pixels wide and 43 pixels high. The actual stabbing does over 200 damage to up to 2 enemies in its hitbox. This is an instant kill for all of the classes, even heavies who are eating their manvich..
