Halberds are one of the basic two-handed melee weapons in ADOM. They belong to the Polearms weapon group, and benefit and train the corresponding weapon skill. Like a number of other types of weapon, halberds can be made of four different metals. Iron halberds have typical melee stats of (+4, 2d7+1), while eternium halberds have typical melee stats of (+11, 4d7+8). All halberds decrease DV by 2 while worn.

Desirability
| - In terms of damage stats, halberds rank between two-handed swords and large hammers. They are powerful weapons, though wielding them denies the PC the benefits of wearing a shield and thus leaves them more open to monster attacks than they would be with a weapon and shield alternative. They can still get some DV bonuses from the Polearms class, though; after a few weapon skill levels wielding a halberd does not decrease the PC's DV as much as wielding most other two-handed weapons would.
