Recently, CoalitionofIndependantRepublics questioned the name of the article "Covenant Empire". After checking through literature, I have found only one instance: page 129 of Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. While this indeed refers to the power as the "Covenant Empire", Halo-343 disagrees on the name. Voting ends: 30 August 2010. -- Forerunner 14:53, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

abstract
  • Recently, CoalitionofIndependantRepublics questioned the name of the article "Covenant Empire". After checking through literature, I have found only one instance: page 129 of Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. While this indeed refers to the power as the "Covenant Empire", Halo-343 disagrees on the name. Originally, this article was simply "Covenant". Heavy usage of that name meant that "The Covenant" was used as a disambiguation page. It was then moved to "Covenant Empire" by Grizzlei, who felt that replacing "Covenant" as the disambig. and using "The Covenant" as the empire's article was absurd, moved it to "Covenant Empire" to make disambiguating realistic (I feel I should note that we have other articles disambiguated simply by the word "The" at the beginning). In light of recent changes to Halopedia's policy on disambiguation pages (the primary canonical term having the name), Halo-343 felt that we should move the article back. As this page is very popular and "Covenant Empire" is used in canon, ("Covenant Empire" suggests the name of the empire, while "Covenant empire" suggests an empire run by the Covenant) I felt that we should have proper consensus on this before a move. Voting ends: 30 August 2010. -- Forerunner 14:53, July 31, 2010 (UTC)
