abstract
  • The Staff Nurse in the male ward was one of the medical staff who looked after the residents who were admitted to hospital following the coach crash on the way back from the Lake District in November 1969. The nurse had a terse exchange with Cyril Turpin when he tried to leave the ward to phone the station, but she allowed him five minutes when she learned that he was a police sergeant. The next morning, she informed a disappointed Stan Ogden that he'd slept through breakfast. Stan then enquired about elevenses - and a bacon butty - but the nurse could only promise that he'd be brought some tea.
