(LUG RPG: The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon) The Dominion deployed a strike fleet towards Alpha Centauri, however this was all a ploy as their true target was the lighter defended Benzar. With only the Starfleet Eleventh Fleet guarding the world Starfleet Command immediately dispatched the Fourteenth Fleet when the Dominion's plan became apparent. Unfortunately for the defenders of Benzar it was too late. The Dominion fleet struck the defenders in force and in a mere hour had all but destroyed the Eleventh Fleet. The Dominion then managed to gain control of the planetary defense systems and awaited the Fourteenth. Admiral Tohas Falanner of the Fourteenth Fleet split his 124 starships into four groups and attacked from four angles, trying to catch the Dominion before it was fully prepared. The tactic was somewhat successful, however the Dominion managed to use several tricobalt devices they captured, one disabling the Admiral's flagship. Despite the crippling of the USS Fe'garren Falanner continued to command the battle from its bridge. Using two wings to protect the vessel. The battle continued for a further three hours, with the Starfleet forces on the edge of victory the surprise arrival of fresh Dominion reinforcements finally decided the battle. Smashing into the Fourteenth's flank Falanner was left with no option but to retreat with his surviving 47 starships and leave Benzar in the hands of the Dominion.
