The Stonecrush is a large, carnivorous monster that appears in Might and Magic: The Dreamwright and Might and Magic: The Shadowsmith. It is almost twelve feet tall, the heaviest of the mountain hobs, and also has the largest feet. They eat flesh and bones, but are also fond of the taste of bark and parchment. When Hitch's party was killed, the shreds of clothing and leather backsacks were arranged in a half-circle at the edge of the wood, while belts, ankle totes, and haulstraps were placed in a mound inside. The boots were placed in front of the mound, toes facing inward.

  • The Stonecrush is a large, carnivorous monster that appears in Might and Magic: The Dreamwright and Might and Magic: The Shadowsmith. It is almost twelve feet tall, the heaviest of the mountain hobs, and also has the largest feet. They eat flesh and bones, but are also fond of the taste of bark and parchment. Hitch saw a stonecrush on at least three occasions. The first was from a distance, when he was out picking berries with the greatfather of his village. The second was when one of the beasts attacked his traveling party, and it devoured them all while he was hiding in the forest. The third was when he and his friends fought the armies of Dubiel in the red-skied world, and the evil soldiers brought one of the beasts with them. Carverax snapped the creature's neck without much effort, and Hitch wondered whether it was the same beast that killed his traveling party. Stonecrushes have curved black horns and wrinkled, grayish pink hides, about the same color as lichenous boulders. The hide makes them adept at camouflage and allows them to stalk prey for hours before attacking. After stamping the victims to death, they then eat them whole, only pausing to remove metal and glass artifacts, dyed fabric, and cured animal hides. The stonecrush then arranges the remaining belongings in decorative patterns. When Hitch's party was killed, the shreds of clothing and leather backsacks were arranged in a half-circle at the edge of the wood, while belts, ankle totes, and haulstraps were placed in a mound inside. The boots were placed in front of the mound, toes facing inward.
