| - Nova Drive Ltd is a minor producer of small starships and starship components who mainly does business on the Rimma Trade Route from its mobile shipyard Nova Drive One. Few of its ships are totally original designs, and most of them are merely upgrades of designs from larger manufacturers. Half of the shipyard is dedicated to build these upgraded fighters and light transports, where the other half of the yard is dedicated to upgrading existing ships to either Nova Drive's new designs or to other specifications contracted by the customer. Nova Drive does little business with large corporations or political entities, and tends to attract more of the spacer and fringer market, making the shipyard kind of a menagerie of customers and ships, some of them not of the entirely legal sort. In part to protect the yards and their customers, Nova Drive has its own small security force, the Nova Knights, consisting of several squadrons of their homebuilt 73-Zs and a small unit of security guards backed by a larger contigent of dated security droids. Currently, Nova Drive is a family-owned company lead by its original founder, Charles Blackwood, who acts as its official CEO and as the design lead of Nova Team One. His elder daughter, Marie Blackwood, heads Nova Team Two while his youngest daughter and only son work in the upgrade and customization division. Their longtime family friend, Robert Starkiller leads the Nova Knights. Currently, the main products of Nova Drive are the 3-Z light freighter and the 73-Z Starfighter. Both products are beginning to show their age, and sales have been beginning to decrease noticably, though the firm still remains marginally profitable. Both of the shipyard's design teams are scrambling to come up with products to make the company once more prosperous.
