In 1997, Ludwig was the featured guest artist at the National Puppetry Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center where he workshopped a new production, Home. Other notable stage works include his adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Safe as Milk, the latter staged in 1994 at P.S. 122 in New York as part of the Jim Henson Foundation’s International Festival of Puppet Theater. He has also directed episodes of the non-Henson series, The Book of Pooh.
