Commander Nigel Alexander is the C.O., of the Gunstar Sentinel. A Colonial Fleet Officer from Caprica, Commander Alexander comes from high society and maintains a certain air of culture and dignity at all times. However, even with his mannerisms, he was a ferocious fighter and tactical genius in space combat. While other officers aspired to be Viper pilots and command Battlestars, he was happy as a Gunstar commander, preferring the speed and maneuverability of the smaller ship to the raw firepower of a Battlestar. A hero to the end, Commander Alexander ordered his ship into the path of a nuclear missile that would have destroyed the Battlestar Prometheus. He died with his ship and was posthumously honored with the Gold Cluster, the Colonial Defense Forces highest honor for valor.
