Whitsun was the head of state of the Imperial Directorate, the remanant of the Galactic Empire after the death of Darth Sidious, who was in power up through the year 34 ABY. He was the man who eventually sought true peace with the New Galactic Republic following the death of several civilians in an accidental firefight created by the friction between the two governmental bodies. Feeling that enough was enough and the death needed to stop. He had already started spearheading political reforms in order to try and make the people happier, after he had gone out on tour and witnessed the hardships the people were truly facing. However, reflecting on what his and the empire's overall legacy will become he has the desire to eventually restore greater power to the people themselves, rather than having a select group control their lives without question. A former protegee of his and current military general named Seig Kayos, who is second only to Whitsun in terms of influence over the Directorate, is furious with such a decision. Feeling it would infringe on his own power as he was the most popular choice to become the next leading governor of the directorate. Whilst in progress the peace summit was attacked by the Nova Hammer, being used by Kayos as a means to frame the Republic and reignite full-scale war. During the confusion he also tried making sure that Whitsun would be killed so he could take power in his stead. Eventually the shapeshifting Sith warrior Darth Crux, under the guise of Kayos' aide Kuro Hoedaac, would try to complete the job. However he was intercepted by Luke Skywalker who engaged him in a lightsaber duel and thus managed to give Whitsun the chance to escape. However, the Jedi Council member Crispin Gray would eventually encounter him as he was trying to escape and kill Whitsun himself. As it would turn out he was actually an agent of a Sith Regime started by Darth Plagueis that was trying to orchestrate the reigniting of the war between the two groups. Whitsun's death by lightsaber solidifying the image that the Jedi, and by proxy the New Galactic Republic, were committing acts of aggression.
