  • "The Three Bears", or "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", is a fairy tale involving three bears and a girl named Goldilocks. At the story's denouement, the bears return home to find Goldilocks napping on their private property. There are multiple versions of this story's ending: either the bears chase Goldilocks away from the premises, or in fact they eat her. Either way, the end occurs when a troop of young scouts neglect to extinguish their campfire, and even with the efforts of a volunteer fire department, most of the wildlife cannot be saved from certain death.
  • The Three Bears are a family of bears originally created for the fairy tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and as such, they are among the fairy tale characters who appear as residents of the Island of 1023 in Rudolph's Shiny New Year.
  • Papa Bear is voiced by Frank Welker, Mama Bear is voiced by Tress MacNeille, and Junior Bear is voiced by Stan Freberg on Tiny Toon Adventures. (Maw's is on fire and Junior's is nuclear waste.) Instead of going for a walk in the woods, they go shopping at the Acme Mall. While they are away, Elmyra Duff invades their house, eats their porridge (except Junior's), and sleeps in their beds. When The
  • The Three Bears are the classic trio of fairytale ursines, consisting of a large papa bear, medium-sized mama bear, and tiny baby bear, from the Goldilocks and the Three Bears. In an early Sesame Street skit, an Anything Muppet version of the family attempts to count each other. They sound off in turn but then go round again and reach the number 7 before Goldilocks intervenes. Other incarnations of the three bears appeared in books, but it wasn't until the 1990s that the family unit of Baby Bear, Papa Bear, and Mama Bear took up permanent residence on Sesame Street.
