Her mother was a member of the Kolat conspiracy, who had gathered information from the Ikoma Histories taking advantage of her husband's station. After Daishi died in the War of Spirits both women moved to City of Honor's Sacrifice, where they run the House of the New Dawn, one of the most important information centers in the Silken Sect. Tsuchi sought a marriage so she could continue her mother's work, using her marriage to access critical information regarding her spouse's work.
