Clarke's Disease (also know as Clark's Syndrome) was a human-based brain disorder. The illness was degenerative. It led to hallucinations, the inability to recognize family, pain and eventually death. Henry Archer suffered from the disease and passed away from it in 2124. The final years of life involved great amounts of pain and starting in 2122 Archer not recognizing his son and wife . In 2154, Arik Soong told Jonathan Archer that the elder Archer may have been cured of the syndrome if genetic engineering has been legal. The Earth Starfleet captain discussed the illness with Enterprise's CMO, Phlox and wondered if Soong was correct. (ENT episodes: "Borderland", "Cold Station 12")

- Clarke's Disease, also known as Clarke's Syndrome, is a medical condition known to affect humans. The disease is a progressive, degenerative and fatal disorder of the brain. Hallucinations and severe pain were some of its symptoms, the latter especially once the disease reached the terminal stage. As of the 22nd century, the illness was incurable. Dr. Henry Archer died of Clarke's Syndrome in 2124, leaving behind a wife, Sally, and son, Jonathan. (ENT: "Borderland", "Cold Station 12")

(ENT: "Borderland", "Cold Station 12") In the final draft script of "Borderland", Clarke's Disease was said to be "marked with bouts of extreme pain." In the final version of the episode, though, the notion that the pain came in the form of "bouts" was omitted.
