| - The Vainglorious-class Cruiser was the predecessor of the Victory-class Star Destroyer and served in the Old Republic Navy in limited numbers years before the start of the Clone Wars. When the Clone Wars began, the vessel was largely supplanted at first by the massive numbers of Acclamator variants, and shortly thereafter replaced by Rendili StarDrive's own Victory-class Star Destroyer. Those Vainglorious Cruisers which survived the Clone Wars were mostly sold off to planetary governments and other private concerns, from there have made their way into a variety of hands, some less clean than others. In terms of modern-day performance, the Vainglorious generally lacks the speed or armament of more modern contemporaries to go up against them and win in direct combat. It is, however, a very well armored and shielded ship, and generally take on punishment nearly as well as most Mon Calamari starships. While no longer a true ship of line, the Vainglorious now shines as a large support ship, where its massive banks of light turbolasers can shred apart corvettes and frigates and proton torpedoes can provide pin-point fire support to larger vessels.
