- The Shadows were a terrorist organization from the first novel in the Splinter Cell series. Based out of Iran, the group was notorious for its suicide bombings. The group was quietly led by Nasir Tarighian, an Iranian cult hero whose wife and children were killed during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.
