A list of the different types of Lindens (listed alphabetically) and what they do:
* Community - Typically on the "community team", a community Linden will help organize events, answer questions in the forums, develop community-based programs, and/or discuss issues with members of the community.
* Content - Content Lindens create various content for SL. They may make building structures, games to play, or objects to give out. They may also make textures, animations, or anything else.
* Development - Sometimes referred to as a "dev". These are Lindens who work on coding various parts that make SL work, such as writing server software or new features for the client.
* Liaison - Liaisons answer residents' questions in-world, clean up junk laying around and may handle disputes. T

* NPC - There are a few non-player character Lindens in SL. An example is Pony Linden.
* QA Testing - Quality assurance testers work on testing features and uncovering bugs. Some may "live" in preview, constantly testing future versions for bugs or issues.
* Support - Support usually handles questions outside of the Second Life world through email or telephone.
