| - Boo only knew of his parents through the ever changing stories occasionally passed down from his owner and employer, a heavyset Zabrak by the name of Jerok. Some days he'd claim that the boy's parents had been taken away to a remote prison for some heinous crime; other days, they were no more than a couple of lowly smugglers, either dead or still running from all sorts of mercs and bounty hunters. No matter what the tale, each of them seemed to conclude in the same manner - that is with Boo's parents owing Jerok a lot of money and desperately offering their only child as compensation. Feeling 'compassionate,' as the Zabrack often worded it, he accepted the slobbering infant into his home, where he was eventually made into a servant. Jerok was a retired game hunter, familiar with the terrain of Tatooine. After his wild expeditions finally became too much for his aging body to handle, Jerok launched a new career as a merchant in the outskirts of Mos Eisley, selling the loot that he managed to scavenge from the remains of other, less fortunate hunters who had fallen victim to the unforgiving Dune Sea. After obtaining Boo, Jerok was quick to incorporate the boy into his act of swindling unsuspecting individuals out of their credits. More often than not, Boo was the one sent into the wastes of Tatooine to look for anything of value, although this method proved to be beneficial as the wild animals seldom approached Boo, much less tried to antagonize him. Unfortunately for Jerok, his line of work eventually crossed the wrong group people, resulting in the Zabrak's mysterious disappearence, and what Boo could only guess must have been a very gruesome demise. Only eleven years old, Boo successfully found his way off of Tatooine and for two years, travelled the galaxy, working various odds and ends as he attempted to support himself. His affairs soon carried him to Nar Shadaa where desperate thievery became second nature to Boo who couldn't maintain sufficient funds via honest labor. His illicit activities, like many others on the Smuggler's Moon, went unnoticed until he attempted to pickpocket an elderly Bothan woman who had sensed his intentions long before he had even tried to approach her. To Boo's surprise, she didn't try to shoot him, slap him, or even harm him at all; instead she offered Boo some work and place to stay. As it turned out, the Bothan woman - Sheema - kept a large, very assorted family of a Trandoshan, a Wookiee, a Rodian, and another Bothan. Sheema had served as a spy in the rebellion and was very much a supporter of the New Republic, as was the rest of the family, some of whom served positions in the New Republic military. The old Bothan had also briefly studied at the Jedi academy, though never pursued much further due to other, conflicting interests. Some time after enlisting Boo's services, Sheema agreed to adopt him on two conditions: that he seek a proper Jedi to help develop the force sensitivity that she sensed within him, and that he give himself a real name, as he had been without one up until then. Boo happily agreed and ventured off of Nar Shadaa to fulfill his end of the bargain.Personality
Boo is very intelligent, though he tends to keep the fact hidden behind his comical nature. He is very much a joker, often relying on his sense of humor to keep his, as well as others' spirits up; however, when upset, Boo tends to handle his problems in an immature manner, often by complaining or allowing himself to become very enraged. With a disdain for inactivity, Boo prefers to have some sort of productive task or job to occupy his time, leading some to see him as an extremely eager young man while others simply view him as impatient, both opinions holding some level of truth. Boo is very persistent worker and extremely passionate about learning new things.Family
Though any of his blood relatives are strangers to him, Boo possesses a close-knit adoptive family. His 'mother' is a Bothan and a former spy, and even possesses minimal Jedi training. She runs a charity organization that helps the needy, specifically on Nar Shadaa. She is stern, wise, and somewhat abstract in speech. Zelch and Lodarr, the oldest of Boo's adoptive siblings, and probably the closest too, are respectively a Trandoshan and Wookiee. Both work as engineers in the New Republic Navy and their personalities seem to compliment one another with Zelch being the calm, steady strategist and Lodarr being the more headstrong and impulsive of the two. Beyond that, Boo doesn't know much about Zelch or Lodarr as they are often away - during his few years with Sheema's family, he only saw the two once or twice. Sheema's third son is Gimoy, an energetic Rodian who is always on the lookout for a good time. He and Boo have developed quite a prosperous relationship during the time together, and have become rather notorious in certain areas of Nar Shadaa for their mischievous activities. The last of Sheema's children, and the only one with whom she shares actual blood is Reeni, a Bothan girl just a few years younger than Boo. Like a lot of Bothan's Reeni is crafty and calculating, making her seem far too smart for her own age, a trait that often proved handy when she accompanied Gimoy and Boo on their reckless adventures.
