Webster played junior for his hometown Kenora Thistles from 1927-30. He then joined the senior Weyburn Beavers in 1930-31 and also played for the Quakers that season. In 1931-32 he played for the senior Fredericton Capitals. He died in Kenora in 1999.

In 1931-32 he played for the senior Fredericton Capitals. Webster won the Allan Cup in 1932-33 an 1933-34 with the Moncton Hawks. He then played four games for the Montreal Maroons in 1934-35 before being sent to the minor league Windsor Bulldogs. He played mostly in the Pacific Coast Hockey League until 1941 when he joined the military. He played two more seasons in Portland, Oregon before retiring in 1946. He died in Kenora in 1999.
