The Mining Cruiser was a class of mining ship produced by the Templars shortly after the clone wars when they went into full scale mining operations around the Theralis Sector. While the size of a cruiser, it was armed like a light corvette. The additional space was taken up by storage facilities, hanger bays, and crews for the large crew shifts and miners. While not designed for combat the ships forward mining laser could be used as an effective anti capital ship weapon while the mining ships retreated.
