Obstetrius, known as Obie, was the child of Echidna and Typhon. Echidna refused to give him to Hera to be trained for evil purposes like her other children, whom Obie would never know since they had been killed by heroes in years past. Klepto kidnapped Obie, intending to give him to the warlord Bluth, who wanted Obie for the same reasons. However, in the time Klepto and Obie were together, they grew fond of one another. Once Obie was rescued by Hercules, Klepto apologized for his wrong-doing. Echidna and Typhon accepted him as Obie's babysitter.
