| - Lirit has the usual grey tinted skin, white hair and yellow eyes of her people. At five foot nothing, she's short for a human, but typical for a Ryn. Her hair is kept fairly short, never more than a handspan, and is often spikey because to flatten short Ryn hair takes far more effort then Lirit is usually willing to invest. Probably the quickest way to identify her by species, besides her coloring, is her tufted tail which is almost always in motion, her slightly pointed ears and her almost beak-like nose with which she earns her keep, as it produces flute-esque tones. On her own time she is usually found in practical leggings and halter tops, her compromise of apparel in which she can both fight or run and still earn tips when she performs. While she will occasionally dress up if she has to, she refuses to wear impractical footwear. Ever. This is not a fight anyone will win. Most recently she's started wearing Jedi robes as requested by her Master, compromised of white leather leggings, darker grey over tunic and white undershirt. She's kept the black boots though. Lirit, like most Ryn, did not have what you might call a stable upbringing. With no home planet and belonging to a race widely seen as untrustworthy con artists it is safe to assume she shared the usual constant traveling past of most of her people. She probably associated almost exclusively with her parents, or parent for the first half of her life as well as any siblings she may or may not have had. We aren't really sure, she has never cared to discuss it outside of a few flippant and self contradicting remarks. As far is she is concerned, the past is the past for a reason. What is known is that at probably 21 years of age, Lirit decided to go find and join the Jedi on Yavin 8. She has never stated specifically where she was when she decided this, but the fact that it took her about a year of ship hopping to get there almost certainly means it was not from somewhere nearby. A very few might also know that the primary reason she decided to undertake this journey was because of the unfortunate tendency she had developed of picking up other sentient beings emotions. Not all the time, and never on purpose or when it might be useful. While this led to some of the best musical performances of her life, like all Ryn she can use her own nose like a flute on top of being at least passable with almost every other instrument her physiology allows the use of, it is also extraordinarily inconvenient to be suddenly floored by someone elses fear or pain and equally if not more akward to pick up on their lust. So while her own inclinations are always to go it alone, she has finally come to terms with the fact that she needs help. And besides, maybe a life as a Jedi will be at least marginally better then one of a stereotypical starving artist, hopping space ports. Family Lirit definetly had a family, everyone has a family. Well. Some beings might magically pop into existence, and clones are an interesting case, but all Ryn have family. They also tend to be fairly close, at least until adulthood, with an us against the world mentality. It is possible her family are still alive and well, perhaps they're even in contact, but she certainly isn't going to tell. Lirit has the unique, almost uncanny ability to make herself at home wherever she is with whoever is there. I like to roleplay, but I rarely do, because I am sort of an elitist jerk and chat speak hurts me. It's surprisingly hard to find RPs which are both active and also have some.. I don't know, quality control? To balance out my jerkishness and also keep me off RPing boards is the fact that I do not have great confidence in my own skills yet, and tend not to post until I have done a stupid amount of research. I spent hours looking at races and narrowing it down, then I had to look at crystals for future lightsaber building, which then lead me on to concerns about what combat form would fit best, what was my characters personality, which aspects of the force would she be good at, which would she fail at, how does she interact, is there room to grow, do I know enough about the species backstory and culture and on and on and... Yes. So basically 48 hours later and I have the very roughest of skeletons and after hours of debating signed up for the forum. I have always enjoyed but never been a huge fan of the Star Wars movies, and I'd like to pick up a few of the books at some point, but what I really LOVE about Star Wars, is all the work that went into the universe, all the possibilities. All the things you never see in the movies but which might be. Thats what I love. I've been half keeping an eye out for a RPing community for Star Wars for... well, years now I guess, and I think I've finally found a decent one.
