Except, a terrible incident involving the death of his biological mother and father crash landed this infant child on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. A small freighter of imperial design lay damaged at the floor of a lush Kashyyyk forest. Smoke billowing from the rubble filled the air and was noticed by a nearby tribe. Two Wookiee scouts were sent to check the wreckage. Removing charred metal and debris, the two Wookiees found a way into through the ships damaged hole. Upon inspecting the ship they noticed cries coming from the main room of the ships interior. Jace was found by the scouts, miraculously alive and untouched by the mangled wreckage. Two passenger however, male and female lay dead in the ships cockpit. Unaware if there were more survivors the two Wookiees checked around the site a little longer. The ships log revealed some very disturbing secrets. Secrets that would be kept from Jace for the rest of his lives, one Wookiee, Warrvark decided to take Jace back to the tribe after thourough investigation he assumed Jace and the two dead passengers were the only ones aboard the vessel. Warrvark and his wife, Wrrllynn, decided to keep Jace and take care of him, at least until his parents found him. Unfortunately years went by, and nothing ever came to be. The couple accepted Jace, gave him the best human name they could come up with, and he lived among them most of his life. As a child he learned to hunt and fight at a young age, survival on Kashyyyk was hard on Wookieees but for a human child it was a struggle everyday. His Wookiee parents took care of him well, but at the time Kashyyyk was constantly being visited by the Empire. Wookiees were taken from their villages to become slaves for the Empire, aware of this many tribes were on their guard constantly. As a boy Jace was aware of the imperial presence and trained in combat with his mentor and father, when he wasn't doing chores. As he grew into his later adolescents Jace had started to develop very lucid and vivid nightmares, too the point where sleep was a constant battle at times it drove him out of bed in a sweaty rage. The dreams were very short at first, he could hear explosions all around him and terrified screams coming from what looked like a closed blast door. Every night of this dream, another piece of it would be revealed until he repeated the same occurrence every night. He was on a ship that was being attacked by an unknown force. He could see a mother kneel down by her child crying in fear. Then with a burst of explosions the ship would descend and plummet to the nearby planet. He of course, survived however the mother would be gone and it was just him walking out of a burning rubble of the ship. He then realized where he was, he was on Kashyyyk but not in the tree top village, he was in a dark forest on the surface of the planet. The glow from fauna would be the only light in the area and the thick fog covered most of the ground. He would slowly make his way toward the depths of the forest when he found the human mother once again, this time the background would change too a large reactor room and a man in a dark robe would approach the woman figure slowly. Not many features too make out on this man, just the fact that the presence of him was very cold and very dark. THe dark figure would then begin to speak to the woman but somehow, Jace couldn't make out the words. He knew they were talking, but couldn't understand what was being said. As the dark figure closed in on the frightened woman he slowly turned his head toward Jace, nothing could be seen within the shadows of the hood that surrounded the mans head. Just a very dark, disturbing feeling. And within seconds, the woman would fall to the ground screaming and seemed to spontaneously combust into flames. The fact of the whole thing being extremely strange didn't cross Jace's mind, only fear and terror and that's when he would lunge from a restless sleep. The dreams continued, not reaching any further into the level of extreme. Eventually he would get used to them, as well as any sane mind could. He never mentioned them to his wookie parents, or even his friends. But the older he got, the more of a strange urge he would get to go down to the Shadow Lands of his village. He was forbidden, however many of his friends had already gone down there to take their Rite of Passage or their Hrrtayyk as the wookies would call it. This filled Jace with a type of emptiness, the more he thought about it the more he felt as if he didn't belong among the wookies. His mother and father however, accepted him as their own but Warrvark would not allow him to take the passage, as he was a human child and the trial was meant for wookies. At least that's what he told Jace, in reality, he knew Jace was an exceptional child and very skilled, he was confident the child could complete the trial however Warrvark feared what Jace might find. Warrvark knew the nature of humans, including their ego and stubbornness but he knew Jace was different, his interest in the SHadow Lands was growing from inside him and not really a matter of "proving himself". One night Jace would not sleep, he knows what sleep does and the horror he has to witness. But something else was keeping him awake. Then it happened, a voice. Very quiet and faint, as if it was coming from accross the village. Jace silently made his way out of bed to investigate. He poked his head out of frame of the huts entrance and looked around. He then made his way down the wooden platform between the canpopy of trees surrounding him and the further he went, the voice would get louder and he could finally make it out, "Jace...." At this point, he wasn't sure if he was awake or sleeping, but the curiosity was strong as he made his way toward the elevator of the shadow lands. Jace was then certain the voice was coming from below. He looked over the Kashyyyk wooden railing, it was way too dark to make out anything. Only he could see branches and a thick fog that shrouded the lower cannopy. It was too late to go down there, the noise would alert any wookies who were still up or patrolling the village. Without hesitation, he decided he would have to climb down, but what about safety from the predators below? He would need a weapon. Jace then made his way to his mentors training hut, hoping no one was around or anyone inside. Breaking the lock to the door he made his way inside and grabbed a sword from the weapon rack. He preferred a blade over a blaster. He was very fluent in the basics of sword play and developed an uncanny speed and finesse with a sword. Besides he was sure to run into trouble, a blaster would make too much noise. Back to the wooden pully elevator he looked over the railing once more, finding a suitable branch or limb poking out of the tree below and after a deep breath he jumped over the railing and aim his body toward the limb. Metal clanked behind him from the sword in its sheath he strapped to his back as he crashed into the branch he was aiming for. Frightened eyes widened as he hit the branch with his chest, completely missing his jump and began to tumble down to the forest floor. He knew if he didn't do something quick, this would be it. The Kashyyyk trees were mighty and tall, the descent to the ground will kill him on impact. Jace flung around his arms trying to grab anything he could, he had already fallen fifteen feet until finally crashing onto a much larger branch straight onto his front side. With a thud he let out what air he had left into his lungs and cringed a bit at the pain. A couple seconds went by then he was finally able to regain himself, although hurting all over. Luckily he didn't break anything. He gathered his thoughts and then continued to look for other branches to climb down. The descent was long, felt like it took days and the thought finally hit that maybe this was a bad idea however he had gone too far to go back now. He was already going to be in trouble, at age fifteen Warrvark still treated him like a child or so he though. Might as well finish. He finally made it to the ground level, what felt like hours he landed on his feet and took some deep breathes. Exhausted from climbing down, and crashing. After happily thanking the ground for finally being there, Jace took a look around at his surroundings. It was very dark, muggy, and a feeling of death surrounded the area. He put himself on his gaurd, remembering all of his training. He made his journey into the dark cavernous woods. In the distant, he could see a blue aura in the form of a silhouette, the feeling of being blankly starred down over took his thoughts. 'Now I'm seeing things..' He thought. Fear started to creep up his spine, but the bravery in his heart pushed him toward the being. He spoke out to the figure, asking who it was but no answer. He approached it to ten feet and in a flicker of blue light it vanished. He was able to make out a womans body and face. Could it be the woman he keeps seeing in his dreams? Unsure he ventured forward into the woods. THe darkness around him, somehow grew darker, impossible he thought. Dark was just dark right, well this was a new level of blackness, and an eerie feeling throughout. Then the blue figure appeared again, so he followed and it dissapeared. Now more eager to figure this out he began chasing it. The faster he went the faster it would disappear. Until after running quite a ways, the feeling of falling punched him in the gut and he began to tumble into a grotto beneath him. This is the second time, he really needs to look down more. Crashing to the ground inside the grotto he picked himself back up and gazed upward. There was no way too climb up he would have to find another way out. He looked around the grotto, it was mainly dirt and rock walls on the inside and very dark. He stopped in one direction, something telling him to head that way. So he did. The blue figure appeared again, this time directly infront of him, he gasped at the happening and stopped himself. "Who, are you? What do you want?" He asked the figure "Go to Corellia." the figure spoke, in a ghostly tone. "Wait.. that's it?" He uttered as the figure began to fade. "Hold on, I need to kno-" and with that the entity was completely gone. Pretty sure he just saw a real ghost, or maybe his lack of sleep and nightmares were finely breaking him down mentally. He kept repeating what the entity had told him. Unsure of what it means other than go there.. But for what? What's in Corellia? How the hell was he going to convince Warrvark to go to Corellia. Not to mention the fact that he was stuck in a grotto and has never even left the planet. Just then a noise could be heard, rocks falling onto another, someone else was there with him. He braced himself for the worse and unsheathed his blade from behind him. Footsteps could be heard, very faintly and slowly moving toward him. He could then feel the presence of a tall being hiding in the shadows, using his instincts he lunged his blade forward in a vertical strike. The sound of metal clanging against eachother with great force echoed throughout the cave as he noticed he had connected with another sword. The force of his opponent was very strong, almost knocking him off his balance. A serious of familiar grunts were released from his opponent, it was a Wookie. The only wookies in the Shadow Lands were ones that were cast out into exile. This was not a good situation for Jace, he had no idea who this wookie was or what he was cast out for but they had struck blades and a fight was sure to insue. The wookie had blocked his first attack, luckily it wasn't the other way around. A wookie at full force against a 15 year old boy could be devastating. Jace knew that a few strikes from the wookie would knock him off gaurd and he wouldn't survive. THe wookies strength would be no match for his teenage body. He knew he would have to evade most of his attacks. The wookie stepped back and ushered a series of swings toward Jace. Instinctively Jace was about to backflip away from these blows avoiding them but once he was back on his feet he realised he had pinned himself up against a wall. THe wookie moved toward him slowly embracing himself for the final blow. Both the wookies hands gripped the handle of the blade as he raised his arms above his head, preparing for a final downward slash towards Jace. A pause took place and the wookie spoke through the common series of grunts and growls, asking Jace a simple question. "I'm looking for something.." Jace answered confidently, awaiting his next move. "I don't want any trouble.. I live tree top in the village.. You're an exile aren't you?" This was not the best question to ask in introductions, or before a killing. The wookie growled in anger thrashing his arms around and punching the nearby structure of the grotto. Unable to stay calm, the large wookie uttered some more growls. Jace, living with the wookies understood this language well, but could not speak the tongue, most humans couldn't, but this wookie clearly understands galactic basic. "I'm sorry." He said after the wookie explained he had a strong hate for the village above, and even though he was a killer and murdered another wookie, he wouldn't harm a child or a woman. "So, if you're not going to kill me.. can you help me get out of here?" Jace asked as he let down his gaurd. The wookie explained to him there was an exit leading up a hill into the grotto, that he could leave there and was ordered to never come back or the wookie would have a change of heart in letting him live. Jace agreed and slowly made his way around the wookie, keeping a close eye on the beast as he sheathed his sword. Was far enough, he began to move quicker towards the grottos exit. Pushing away moss, hands could be seen coming out of a hole on the side of a hill in the Shadow Lands and Jace made his way through and back outside, which probably was more dangerous than being with a murderer wookie. Not really sure where he was, and couldn't get a good feeling on the direction he was going. He picked around route and decided to head down it, realizing he better figure things out now before he got even more lost then he already was, still thinking about his dreams and what the ghost had told him. In the distance he could feel the presence of something lurking in the shrubs before him. Before he could think, a wild katarn sprinted for it at full speed. The ravenous beast decided to make Jace his meal however the katarn was worthy, it was no match for his deadly sword skills. One was fine, but Jace noticed more of them heading toward him from behind. He fought off what he could and continued in the forest at full speed. Fear still with him he was still able to lose the last katarn that had been chasing him. He leaned up against a tree and took a breath of relief, until the ground started to shake around him. He could feel vibration of the shake on his back through the tree he leaned against. Something very large was heading this way. Each growing thud meant it was getting closer. He moved away from the tree and spun around removing his sword from it's sheath in a quick fashion to brace himself for his next challenge. He was overcome with the sense of doom as he glared at the ten foot tall Terentatek that stood before him clenching it's claws and drooling over razor sharp teeth. Jace gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, kind of wishing he took a bowcaster with him at this point, or a couple dozen grenades. Withought thinking he foolishly moved to the left of the beast very quickly and followed through with a horizontal slash to the beasts abdomen, revealing a green ooze that seaped from a deep wound. The beast let out a large heavy growl flailing at Jace as one monstrous hand connected with Jace sending him ten feet away from the monster on his back. His sword was lost from his hand in this attack and was flung ten feet in the other direction of Jace. The Terentatek moved for Jace ready to devour the boy, a blast from a nearby blaster bolt connected with the side of the monsters head stopping the attack. Over in the distance was the exiled wookie holding a bowcaster. The wookie let out more shots, at the Terentatek and the monster changed it's direction and began charging for the wookie. Jace was then able to get himself off the ground and ran to his sword. A growl from the Wookie telling him to leave could be heard as he was fighting off the monster for him. What were this murderous outcasted wookies motives for saving him? Jace was told that the wookie was a killer, and he could not return to the tree top villages. Now wasn't the time for conversation though, Jace had to get out of there or he could be killed. However the honor that his father had taught others shrouded his mind, emotions peaked through his thoughts. Jace wanted to save the wookie, regardless of his crimes. Taking up arms he hurried toward the fight. After a few scrapes, lots of bruises, and a good gash on Jace's arm the monster had fallen to it's demise. Defeating the Terentatek was no celebration. Jace eyed the wookie afterward, blood dripping from his blade. At first a moment of silence then the wookie spoke, and even Jace could tell it was in an honorable tone. "No one has shown me such honor in a very long time." The wookie spoke and Jace easily translated the words. "You saved me, if I were a wookie I'd owe you a life debt." Jace insisted. "You owed me nothing, and you still risked your life to save me." The wookie said. "As crazy as this is, it's actually happened. I was told to give this to the one who saved me." The wookie extended his arm toward Jace, gripping something within his fist. Jace accepted the object, opening his hands revealed a holo tape with the label 'Starwind' on it. His brow raised at the tape in confusion, but quickly realized this could all somehow be connected, and whatever was on this tape could be the answer. Jace thanked the wookie, saying he had to get back up to the village and the wookie agreed to help. He later discovered the wookies name used to be Kallarhyyn, and he lived in the same village as Jace's wookie parents. He was accused of murdering his wife but insisted that wasn't what happened. Jace promised Kalla that he would try to talk to his father, but Kalla insisted he didn't Kalla mentioned he had a purpose, and he had to stay in the Shadow Lands. Kalla rigged an old broken elevator connected to the other end of the village, saying he had been working on it a long time ago and it should work. The ride up was very frightening. Sounds of snapping wood and tense rope could be heard, and not to mention the shaking. Eventually he survived the trip and made his way up to the canopy. A good distance away form the village, he stopped in shock as he stood before a burning village. The smoke was thick and black and nearly every hut was under fire. Jace ran towards the burning village and went straight for his parents hut. His discovery was horrifying. His father, laid outside surrounded by pools of his own blood. Jace made his way to his fathers side and inquired on the events, Warrvark told him slavers had came there was a resistance and they took his mother. Just after his father slipped from his life, Jace was filled with tears and could feel the anger growing strongly inside of him. Everything he knew was gone.. Two years had pass since the events in the Shadow Lands and the destruction of his village on Kashyyyk. He spent those two years planning to get off of Kashyyyk and find a way to Corellia as the vision had told him too. Unfortunately he had no ship, no money, and all he'd ever known was Kashyyyk and his village. His fighting skills grew into somewhat of a "survival" level. Being on his own for two years he had to fend for himself. Neighboring villages were aware of the incident, most of them were very reluctant to offer any help. In fear that the Empire would find out they were harboring a human boy. Some wookies however were more generous and offered assistance to transports, food, or weaponry. Jace didn't really want the help though. He was very strong willed after what had happened and a little more stubborn than usual. Eventually Jace had devised a plan to leave. He made a very little amount of credits by doing odd jobs for other wookie settlements, but it wasn't to pay for a trip out. No he rather stow away in the cargo hold of one of the freightors leaving the spaceport. He could feel the rumble of the ship as it made its depart from the planets surface. He thought of the past briefly, as he realized this may be the last time he ever stepped foot on Kashyyyk. None of that mattered after those two years alone though. He was determined to find the answers he was looking for. Jace was quick to make his exit as the ship landed at Coronet cities starport. Just as he was ready to escape, he over heard one of the passengers speak of a bounty on someone. Peering behind a stack of supplies he took a glance at two men with blasters, and appeared to be some kind of bounty hunters. This probably wasn't the greatest choice of freighters to sneak on but at least it wasn't an Imperial ship. After making his escape he traveled out of the starport and into the city. He had never seen such traffic or buildings as magnificent as the ones on Corellia. Everything was so strange to him, but not as strange as the looks he received from the civilians. They saw a young boy in rags with a sword strapped to his back and looked like he had been living in the wilderness his whole life, if only they knew. After a couple weeks Jace had no leads on anything, and was running out of money. The holotape he had been giving by Kalla played a very distorted message and some of the files were corrupted. The tape had been slightly damaged and physically looked as if it had seen better days. Jace would play the message over and over but couldn't figure out what it meant. 'Kyle Starwind.... four days..' would play and distort, but after hitting it against a wall it would play '...position on corellia has been compromised, I'm leaving immediately taking nothing. The Force will guide me.' and then the tape would cut out. He thought maybe this Kyle Starwind had a place here on Corellia. But first, Jace was running out of money.. He needed to find a job, living on the street was hard enough but won't mean anything if he can't eat. Another week passes and Jace finds a job working in janitorial. Not the greatest job but it was steady and it paid what he needed to survive. Four times a week he would report for his shift and clean shuttles and transports before new departures at the star port. He also paid close attention and spent a lot of time talking with pilots. Some of them even showed him a thing or two about flying. One boasted of being an ex smuggler, smuggling spice from one end of the galaxy and to the other, constantly being chased by the Empire. He laughed at most of the stories, still they were very interesting to him. After a few months, Jace had been doing pretty well for himself and was able to afford some new gear and still stay fed. He still slept outside though.. On a typical day months later, Jace was cleaning a shuttle when he heard two other security officers talking to eachother. "Yeah, they never found that kid.. The higher ups say the case is going to close soon." One officer confirmed. "Didn't they send a large team to find them?" The other asked. "Yeah, they traced the freighter to Kashyyyk, found both dead and no baby Starwind." Jace's eyes grew wider as he paused from what he was doing. "That's a damn shame." One of the offficers proclaimed. "Yeah, that was 17 years ago.. I doubt by now they'll ever find the boy. Anyway, that old man is locked up good. Who knows why he kept asking about the boy, either way he'll be transferred out of here as soon as we get the clearance." Jace thought to himself, this was the best lead he had so far, well the only lead he had. Jace thought quick, as the officers were walking away, he had to find out more somehow. "So that old man locked up! Where is he being held..?" Jace interrupted loudly and foolishly asked a question. "Why do you care kid?" One of the officers asked. "Because, I uh.. am his...... nephew! And I need to make sure he's ok! Aunty has been worried sick.." "Kid your aunt was here for his trial, and just left..." The other officer proclaimed. "Well, it's a different Aunt. Haha, we have a pretty big family." Jace stated "..Well, he's in the Coronet City Security Station, inmate 14278." The officer said, as if it were some top secret information. "Thank you! I'll be sure to let aunty know.." Jace exclaimed. Jace left early that day, he made his way to the security office and insisted he speak with the old man. After sometime, they finally let Jace in to speak with him. After learning the charges were for assault on an officer. Pretty serious stuff for someone they call 'old man' he thought. Jace made his way into a room and sat face to face at a table with the chained old man. "...You're not my nephew kid. What do you want? And what's with the funny hat?" The old man questioned. "Heh heh, it was the only way they'd let me in." Jace stated. "My name is Jace.. I think you're looking for me?" "Jace!? .. I don't know any Jace." THe old man confirmed. "I overheard some officers in docking bay 7 say you were looking for a boy who crashed on Kashyyyk 17 years ago." "Yes, Jason A Starwing... wait.. how old are you? You can't be.." The old man said as he scratched the bottom of his grey beard. "Well, I go by Jace. It's the name the wookies gave me. My mother, Wrrllyyn." Jace said as he folded his arms and formed a proud grin upon his face. "..Wookies??" The old man squinted and glared at Jace for a moment and then changed himself to a very shocked and surprised expression. "I knew you were still alive! I KNEW IT!!!! ..Hey, listen, don't tell the authorities. If they know that Kyle's son is still alive.." "..You mean my father?" Jace asked. For the rest of the session, Jace was explained that his father was in some trouble with the Empire and he needed to quickly leave. He wasn't sure what kind of trouble exactly, as time was up for their session and the old man named Katos was being transferred in the morning. Not knowing much, he was given the location of safehouse his father used before the war. Jace was thankful for the information, and learned that Katos used to be a friend of the family. Apparently he had been looking for Jace or "Jason" since the accident. After being "poorly treated" by one of the officers he struck the officer with a cane, leading to his arrest. He sounded like they were transferring him to some psyche ward. Jace waited till nightfall and then made his way to the safe house. He borrowed a speeder from his boss to make the trip, he was still learning how to drive one of those but even with the inexperience he still pushed as fast as he could through the country side. The safe house was a small one bedroom home located in a remote area of Corellia, once he finally broke in his eyes scanned the old dusty room. He moved around the main study area looking for clues or anything that would help him. He found a couple letters from Kyle Starwind to his wife Mary, then one struck his attention. It had talked about the war and how the Jedi were being outcasted and accused as criminals, deep emotions toward Mary and how he wished things could be different. He had to go in hiding, but he was learning some powerful techniques, ones that could stop the war. Jace stopped himself, he remembered hearing small talk of the Jedi on Kashyyyk, his father Warrvark however kept any knowledge of the Jedi to himself. This man must be his father, but was he really a Jedi? Unsure he looked around some more, and found a picture of what appeared to be Kyle and Mary, and a baby infant boy in the mothers lap. Jace collapsed on the nearby seat. He was stunned for the moment, but then began thinking why would Warrvark keep me from this? Did he even know? Still so many unanswered questions in Jace's mind. Jace insisted his employer, he needed to learn how to be a pilot the next day. He was determined to find out more and he felt the answers would lie in the stars. His boss gave him a crash course on flying, he picked up the basics pretty quickly. Within a year he was flying side jobs for his company within the system and after two years he was travelling hyperspace routes, seeing sides of the galaxy he had never seen before. He was definitely growing into an adult, but still the nightmares continued and he felt he may have a new purpose in the galaxy everyday. At age 21 He decided it was finally time to leave Corellia. He had saved up enough money to purchase a shuttle ride wherever he wanted to go, he even had a small one-room apartment. But the time was good as any to leave it all behind, he needed the next chapter in his life, for the last few years he had been studying what lore there was about the ancient jedi, and he had only one destination in mind, a destination where he could serve a purpose. And possibly fulfill what is calling him and what is empty in him..Family Here you can list your characters Family and close Friends.
